Transactional & Litigation Paralegal

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transactional and Litigation Paralegal to join our small but thriving law firm located in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both transactional and litigation work, as this role will involve supporting attorneys in various legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a close-knit, fun, friendly, and dynamic legal team and gain exposure to diverse legal practice areas.
Transactional Support:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, agreements, and other transactional materials.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations applicable to the firm's transactional matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys to facilitate the due diligence process for various transactions.
- Help manage and organize documentation related to corporate filings, mergers, acquisitions, and business formations.
- Communicate with clients regarding updates, requirements, payments, etc.
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedules.
- Aid in the preparation and filing of legal documents for court proceedings, such as petitions, motions, and responses.
- Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and other essential litigation materials.
- Assist with the discovery process, including document review and production.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
- Communicate with clients regarding updates, requirements, payments, etc.
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedules.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using online resources, databases, artificial intelligence, and more to support case preparation and client matters.
- Summarize and present legal findings to attorneys in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management databases and calendars.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure all necessary documents and filings are completed on time.
- Provide regular updates on case status and progress to attorneys and clients.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and providing status updates as required.
- Assist in scheduling meetings and client consultations.
- Assist in collections and invoicing.
- Education: Associate's degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a strong background in both transactional and litigation support.
- Certification: Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is desirable but not required.
- Legal Software Proficiency: Experience with legal research databases, case management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other team members.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple cases and tasks efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in document review and preparation.
- Team Player: A collaborative and flexible approach to work, willing to support colleagues when needed.
- Ethics and Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of ethics and maintain strict confidentiality regarding client matters.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of a small law firm and willingness to take on new challenges.
